Apple paradise South Tyrol-Trentino
South Tyrol-Trentino is situated on the southern side of the Alps, and at the same time is the northernmost region in Italy. Its total area covers approx. 13.600 km2. The countryside boasts about 300 days of sunshine per year, and therefore it combines the climatic advantages of mountainous terrain with the comparatively mild climate of the valleys and basins. This is, among other factors, one of the reasons for the exceptional position of the South Tyrol-Trentino region within the European apple growing industry. Our region harvests approximately 1,700,000 tons of apples per year, which comprises about 70 % of all apple production in Italy, and approximately 10% of the entire EU27 production.
